Ed Simeone will be presenting the HEAR FACTOR: TV Loudness Past, Present & Future. It's not a sales presentation, but an in depth and often humorous look at audio throughout the years. Ed will uncover some of the mystery behind loudness measurement from the earliest attempts to control radio and TV levels up to the latest ATSC A-85 Loudness Recommendation. Topics covered with include the seven biggest audio loudness problems networks and local broadcasters face today. He will also cover the CALM Act which winding its way through Congress and it's connection to the ATSC's A-85 Loudness recommendations.

Last Meeting
Daniel Loeffler of MAYAH Communications presented on their new IP audio codecs for IP/ISDN and ENG mobile applications. Additionally, for TV and Video, they introduced the new MPEG-4 H.264 SD/HD codecs IOCAST series AVC encoders, decoders and transcoders for SNG SD/HD distribution, Web-Streaming and IPTV.
